grades curriculum begins the process of moving from learning about
the computer to integrating the computer into the student's regular
studies. The students will come to see the computer as a tool to
enhance their learning, and improve their understanding of the world
around them. The 2nd grade continues with their MicroWorlds studies,
but now they use the program, combined with the Internet to research
and create presentation on a number of topics. These include studies
of endangered animals, U.S. States and Presidents. For the 3rd grade
the students begin to use the computer for word processing,
including typing practice with Type To Learn and independent
exercises with Word. As well, the 3rd grade has the most complete
integration of their homeroom subjects with Publisher. These include
a cookbook, Native American Travel Brochure and Colonial Business
Rainforest Did you know there are two types of Rainforest
-- the temperate and the tropical? Tropical rainforests are found
close to the equator. Temperate rainforests are found along coasts
in the temperate zone, such as the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
